Welcome to my personal documentary on the long and perilous road to rebuilding my life and my business.

Prior to Hurricane Katrina I owned and managed a growing computer consulting practice. I had just hired my first full-time employee and worked with about a dozen contractors at any given time. I was building a local client base and establishing solid contacts that were earning me a great reputation in the area.

In August, 2005 I took a hard-earned 2 week vacation in sunny Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. When I came back, my home and office were flooded and my clients suddenly had other things besides work on their minds. Rather than sticking around for the aftermath, I decided to get on with my life.
